Ballistic Plate and Panel Forming
Hard armor plates and vehicle applique panels must combine ceramics with composite backers under extreme pressure to eliminate air gaps and ensure full adhesion. They also need precise curing of advanced fibers like UHMWPE to meet strict ballistic standards.
Macrodyne delivers 7,500-ton and 600-ton heated laminating presses that bond ceramics, metals, and composites into high-strength ballistic panels. Our heating technology cures advanced fibers during pressing, producing armor plates and panels that consistently pass rigorous impact requirements.
Helmet Shell Molding
Modern helmets demand lightweight protection formed from layered ballistic fibers. The process requires exacting pressure control to ensure uniformity and avoid weak spots, especially before costly ballistic testing.
Macrodyne compression molding and deep-draw presses with heated matched dies shape Kevlar, aramid, and UHMWPE helmet shells with consistency across multiple sizes. Advanced controls and quick die-change features help manufacturers maintain throughput while meeting strict safety standards.
Vehicle Hull and Component Forming
